RANCH HOUSE BBQ GRAND RE-OPENING!

Ranch House BBQ & Steakhouse will re-open their doors at their original Olympia location on Monday, February 9th at 11am!

As many of you know, Ranch House BBQ was completely destroyed in an early morning mudslide on 12/03/07. Operating most of 2008 out of a temporary downtown Olympia location, allowed the business to survive while building and property re-construction was being completed.

At times it felt like the doors to the historic Ranch would never re-open. A roof fire in early December 2008, followed by another 2 week delay due to the heavy snowstorm that fell in late December and, most recently, minor flooding due to the heavy rains in early January. But, out of the mud, smoke, snow and rain, Ranch House BBQ will rise again!

The months of hardwork and dedication provided byJeff Bowers and Bowers Construction of Montesano, has finally paid off. Ranch House BBQ will gladly re-open their doors to their long missed customers and friends. "I just want to cook BBQ," said owner and chef Amy Anderson. "It's been a long, long road to get here and we just hope the worst is over."

While Anderson and co-founder Melanie Tapia promise the same award-winning bbq, you will notice some changes. "Just about everything is new," said Tapia. "We really wanted to keep it the same ole' Ranch but between the mudslide and fire, it was just all gone." Although the overall size of the building is the same, upgrades include the addition of air conditioning and central heat, a cocktail lounge and kitchen upgrades.

Ranch House BBQ is located at 10841 Kennedy Creek Rd Sw in Olympia off Highway 8. Ranch House BBQ will be open 7 days a week from 11am to 9pm. Reservations are accepted. To contact call (360) 866-8704 or www.ranchhousebbq.net.

Ranch House BBQ closes their temporary location!

November 29, 2008

Ranch House BBQ's lease expired at our temporary location in downtown Olympia tonight! But wait - this is exciting because it means we are getting closer to re-opening our original location on Hwy 8!!!

That's right...despite the recent fire that destroyed the new roof and plumbing at the Ranch, we will still open as planned. With many thanks to Jeff Bowers, owner of Bowers Construction, and his awesome crew, Ranch House BBQ will be ready to open toward the end of December!!

While Ranch House BBQ moves out of their temporary digs, crews are working double time to get the building ready for us to move in! The new roof, siding and windows are complete. Next comes electrical, insulation and sheetrock. Before we know it the new paint and floors will be going in!

Keep an eye on the website for updates and help spread the word....Ranch House BBQ is still smokin' hot!!

Ranch House BBQ & Steakhouse is Re-Building!

WATCH US RE-BUILD!!

10/31/08, Olympia: Ranch House BBQ & Steakhouse got the green light three weeks ago to rebuild their restaurant after months of waiting for funding and permits. The December 2007 mudslide that swept through the five acres that Ranch House BBQ sat so peacefully on for the past 60 years, was devastating not only to the owner Amy Anderson, but also our local community.

With no proceeds from their insurance company or FEMA, Anderson was forced to take out a low interest government loan. Just weeks before the first loan installment is due, Anderson received her building permit from the County. “The Thurston County building department has been very helpful during these past tough months,” Anderson said. “But, like everything else it takes time. There is so much that had to be in place before the actual re-building could occur.”

Operating at their temporary location in downtown Olympia has helped keep the Ranch House BBQ customers satisfied…so much so that Ranch House BBQ was awarded “Best BBQ of the South Sound” for the third year in a row! Due to the complete loss of equipment during the disaster, Ranch House BBQ was forced to take the year off from competing on a national bbq circuit where previous wins have included Grand Championship titles from Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Idaho, Canada and the World BBQ Championship in Ireland!

Ranch House BBQ hopes to re-open their original location at the end of December 2008. In true extreme makeover fashion, contractors are working side-by-side in an effort to speed up the process and make that dream come true.

You can enjoy Ranch House BBQ's award-winning bbq through Sunday, November 30 at their temporary downtown Olympia location 621 Capitol Way. Ranch House BBQ will be closed temporarily to focus all their energy and efforts toward a successful re-opening at the end of December 2008!
